Search For Good Food Gets Easier With Expanded Eat Well Guide
Posted by Kerry Trueman, Eating Liberally

When The Sustainable Table launched its online directory, The Eat Well Guide, back in 2003, its goal was to help folks find non-factory farmed animal products. But as the demand for fresh, local, sustainably produced food grows, The Eat Well Guide’s growing right along with it, broadening the scope of its mission to include produce, farmers’ markets, and vegan restaurants. The folks at Eat Well are even dipping their toes in the water with H20 Conserve, a campaign to encourage wiser water usage.

Eat Well’s director, Destin Joy Layne, embraces the ideal of building community in both the real world and online, so she recently became a member of the FSNYC and, just last month, launched a blog on Eat Well’s website, called The Green Fork, where the Eat Well team offers a blend of information, observation and recipes to inspire sustainable eaters all across the US and Canada.

And travelers seeking fresh, healthy, local food will find their search simplified even more this summer when Eat Well unveils an interactive mapping feature which goes beyond providing listings to show you how to get to your chosen destination. “You’ll be able to map a route from point A to point B and choose from a list of categories (anything from farms to markets to lodgings, all offering local, sustainable food), and create your own free custom, printable guide complete with maps, driving directions and business profiles,” according to The Green Fork. For good food fans on the go, it’s getting better all the time! Read more about the enhanced Eat Well Guide here.
