New York Host City CSD 17 Preparatory Meeting Notice

Last May NYC successfully hosted the UN’s Commission on Sustainable Development meeting (CSD 16) and many FSNYC members participated in helping to organize side events including the City-Farm CSD Showcase and the City-Farm Linkages Showcase Learning Event at Teacher's College (Click here to view the live notes and summaries on the Sustainable Food Monitor website)

Please read below to learn of an opportunity for those interested in working on the local NYC host organizing comittee for CSD 17.


MAJOR GROUPS PLANNING SESSION

All interested groups planning to be active at CSD 17 are invited to a briefing and planning session addressing emerging and shared priority issues of Major Group Organizing Partners and CSD participants for the 2009 session. This will include initial plans for the Intergovernmental Planning Meeting (February 23-27) and CSD 17 (May 4-15), 2009,

The meeting will be preceded by a local New York City host organizing committee gathering for those who facilitated the May 2008 CSD 16 reception, weekend Showcase and Symposium and are organizing events for the upcoming CSD 17. Interested others based locally are invited.
